He may be the most powerful man in the world.

But when it comes to social media, US President Barack Obama is as naive as most parents.

In an episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live TV show on Monday, he revealed that he was mocked by his youngest daughter, Sasha, 15, Mail Online reported.

The reason: He asked her about Snapchat one night at dinner. She filled him in, then trolled him on the platform.

Mr Obama said: "So, she starts explaining... at the end of it, Michelle and I are sitting there. And I said: 'Isn't this interesting'?

"I started talking to Michelle about the implications of social media ... (And I) come to find out she (Sasha) was recording us... and then sent to her friends afterwards: 'This is my dad lecturing us on the meaning of social media'.

"And she took a picture of herself sort of looking bored."

Mr Obama added that his wife Michelle and eldest daughter Malia had "loved" Sasha's post.

Mrs Obama joined Snapchat in June, BBC reported.

Host Kimmel joked that her post represented a security breach.

Mr Obama admitted that he does not possess the same enthusiasm for other forms of technology when Kimmel asked him if he would advise young people to be cautious in what they write in an e-mail that could be deemed controversial, nbcnews.com reported.

Said the president: "I think it's interesting. Now, I have e-mail. I don't have texting because my phone function is disabled.

NO CAMERA, NO MUSIC

"I now have an iPhone, but it's like the phone you give your two-year old... So my phone has no phone (calls), no camera, no music - all it has is the Internet, and I can send e-mails.

"But my rule throughout my presidency has been that I assume someday, sometime, somebody will read this e-mail - so I don't send any e-mail... that at some point won't be on the front page of newspapers."

Kimmel's famous Mean Tweets segment, where guests are asked to read unflattering posts about themselves, proved the president has the finesse to battle social media - probably thanks to his daughters.
